Plans for Digital Object Identifiers for EOSDIS

This session will review the current plans and approach to using DOIs with EOSDIS standard products. I will report on the Pilot project to assigned DOIs and progress in working with instrument/science teams. Several product generation teams are planning reprocessing campaigns in the near term and are interested in embedding DOIs in their product metadata. We want to solicit ideas for placement of DOIs in HDF metadata and see if it makes sense to coordinate the placement with other projects using HDF.
