This Tutorial introduces the HDF5 features for working with complex data and for achieving a better I/O performance and efficient storage.
The Tutorial will give an overview of the HDF5 data types commonly used to store records, strings, and to represent data dependencies. The Tutorial will discuss how to perform partial I/O, and how to take advantage of the HDF5 compression mechanism. We will use Python examples to illustrate the material.
HDF5 C, Fortran and Python examples will be provided to help participants to review the material they learn in this Tutorial.
