Over the past decade, massive amounts of satellite data have been extensively used to explore atmospheric and climate sciences by Prof. Larry Di Girolamo's research group at University of Illinois. These data produced from multiple instruments on NASA's satellites(MISR,MODIS etc.) are in either HDF or HDF-EOS formats. In the presentation, we will briefly review how these data are processed and demonstrate the tools we have developed. Examples of the scientific applications of the data will be also given. In addition, we will discuss the technical supports we need to facilitate accessing and visualizing HDF/HDF-EOS data in the future.
