This page provides some sample NASA data products to use HDF-EOS2 to netCDF-4 conversion . The conversion tool converts the non-HDFEOS2 objects by using the HDF5 dimension scale APIs if possible.
To run the example,
simply type on command-line
./h4toh5 -eos -nc4strict input.hdf input.nc4.h5
The HDF-EOS2 to netCDF-4 conversion generates error messages for a couple of sample files. We found the failures are mainly due to the non-HDF-EOS2 objects or the issues in the original HDF-EOS2 files. All the HDF5 files converted from the sample files follow the netCDF-4 data model and can be opened by ncdump. The CDL output of these HDF5 files can be found under CDL. The EOS2 to netCDF4 conversion is in the minimal maintenance mode. If this conversion option cannot satisify your need, we suggest you check the HDF4 to CF conversion toolkit or Converting HDF4 to HDF5.
