This document describes the GESDISC AIRS data files. It is sub-divided into three sections: AIRS L1B(Level-1B), AIRS Level-2 and AIRS_Level-3 respectively.
In many files, group name or data fields name contains special characters, such as hyphen '-', and therefore requires a modification for some software tools to access the fields or groups.
All of Level-1B files are HDF-EOS2 swath files. The latitude and longitude of some files are stored as one dimension array each and the number of the elements for each array is the same.
The following table summarizes the information collected for the files:
