Thousands of years ago, humans communicated graphically by drawings, pictures, gestures and expressions. As the written words supplanted images as a method of communicating, we developed ourselves a serial, linear way of communicating.
When we first invented the computer, we introduced the interface we know best to communicate: the serial Command Line Interface (CLI). We then invented the Graphical User Interface (GUI) that allows us to graphically communicate with the computer.
