Status of HDF at EDC DAAC
No Version0 datasets are currently distributed in HDF
Ongoing survey of customers indicates:
- Small percentage of users experienced with HDF
- Many users have heard of HDF, but know little about it
- Not many users currently plan to routinely use HDF
- It is likely many users will request assistance or references to sources of HDF tools
Common “data handling” questions from users:
- “How do I ingest these data using (COTS, GOTS, “freeware,” DOS/UNIX utilities)?”
- “How do I display these data using (COTS, GOTS, “freeware”)?
GTOPO30 data will be packaged in HDF-EOS for DAAC and Instrument Team SSI&T (only) in October (?)
